Learn to Knit for ages 11-17

Service Description

Learn to knit for 11-17 year olds. Term 2 Tuesdays at Sandwich Junior School from 3.45 to 4.45pm. Suitable for beginners and improvers. 7 x one hour sessions – 4th November to 16th December inclusive. Perfect for the skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh awards, or for anyone who'd like to learn from scratch or just improve their knitting. The choices this term are: Beginners - robin, penguin or Christmas tree bauble (in one colour). Anyone who's done at least one term of knitting – Rudolph or a Christmas tree bauble (in two colours), plus any of the above. Knitters who are VERY confident with knit stitch – Christmas pudding, plus any of the above. Knitters who are VERY confident with purl stitch - Santa hat, larger robin, larger penguin, holly, mistletoe, plus any of the above. Knitters who are VERY confident with purl stitch and following a pattern - Bauble with initial letter (in two colours), plus any of the above. Make your chosen item from start to finish, and then receive a free electronic copy of the matching knitting pattern, so you can knit it yourself again and again. All materials provided and prepared as required ready to start. Please record choice of item and colour/s when booking. The items can be made in any of the following colours: red, orange, yellow, light green, forest green, teal, hot pink, peach, pink, blue, turquoise, royal blue, cream, white, lilac, purple, dark purple, navy blue, beige, dark beige, brown, grey, dark grey or black. Purple sparkle, pink sparkle, silver sparkle and red sparkle are also available for a more festive knit. Check gallery below to view them all. Free bamboo knitting needles worth approx. £3 with first booking. Other knitting equipment also included as required. All yarn is 100% acrylic, except sparkle yarn which is 96% acrylic and 4% polyester. Stuffing is 100% polyester. Please book by Monday 3rd November. Further courses to follow.
